East West University Organizes Space Leadership Program – NASA Day

The Himalayan Space Centre (HSC), in collaboration with East West University and Robotic Valley, successfully organized the Space Leadership Program – NASA Day on 11 July at the East West University campus. The event marked the first university-level NASA Day program held outside the United States, bringing together students from Brahmanbaria, Natore, Sirajganj, Kushtia, Nilphamari, and several other districts to experience the excitement of space leadership, science, rocketry, and innovation.
Participants engaged in a wide range of interactive activities, including NASA Space Tech Activities, the VR NASA Rocket Experience, AI for Astronauts, the Astronaut Aptitude Experience, Rocketry, the Space Ecosystem, and hands-on aerospace demonstrations showcasing space technologies for the Fifth Industrial Revolution (5IR). The program encouraged students to explore Space and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education through practical learning, creativity, and teamwork.
The NASA Day sessions were conducted by NASA Camp Ambassador Mr. Afroz Mamun, who shared valuable insights into NASA missions, astronaut training, space exploration, and future opportunities in the global aerospace sector. Professor Dr. Ahmed Wasif Reza, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences of East West University, inspired students by emphasizing the importance of research, innovation, and leadership in shaping the future of space science. Mr. Ahsanul Akib from Robotic Valley further motivated participants through engaging robotics demonstrations and discussions on emerging technologies and their role in future space exploration.
The event concluded with enthusiastic participation from students and educators, reinforcing the shared commitment of the Himalayan Space Centre, East West University, and Robotic Valley to developing the next generation of space leaders, innovators, researchers, and STEM professionals in Bangladesh.
