The East West University (EWU) Rooftop transformed into a vibrant canvas of Bengali culture on April 22, 2025, as the Department of Sociology and the Sociology Club jointly organized a delightful Boishakhi Utsab. The event received a warm welcome from Prof. Dr. Shams Rahman, the Vice Chancellor of EWU, whose presence underscored the university's commitment to fostering cultural engagement among its students. His encouragement added a special touch to the colorful proceedings.
A key attraction of the Utsab was the diverse array of stalls that adorned the rooftop. These stalls showcased a captivating collection of traditional Bengali ornaments, from intricately designed terracotta jewelry to vibrant glass bangles. The craftsmanship on display offered a glimpse into the rich artistic heritage of Bangladesh. Adding a delectable dimension to the festivities was the 'pitha' show. Professor Dr. Fouzia Mannan, Chairperson of the Department of Sociology, faculty members, and students of the department also attended the program.
