Workshop on “Writing Academic Transformation Fund (ATF) Sub-Project Proposals”

The University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh, in collaboration with the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of East West University (EWU), successfully organized a significant workshop titled “Writing Academic Transformation Fund (ATF) Sub-Project Proposals” for EWU's professors and associate professors on January 2, 2025. The workshop commenced with a compelling welcome address delivered by the Director of IQAC, Professor Dr. Sufia Islam.

Professor Dr. Mohammad Ashik Mosaddik, the Pro-Vice Chancellor of EWU, delivered an insightful speech that emphasized the importance of the workshop. He outlined the essential guidelines for crafting effective ATF sub-project proposals, stressing the need for competitive submissions that stand out within the research landscape. Professor Mosaddik reaffirmed the transformative impact of the initiatives undertaken by the UGC through the Higher Education Enhancement and Transformation project, which is crucial for establishing a sustainable research culture and improving the quality of education in Bangladesh.

Professor Dr. Md. Mozahar Ali, an ATF Management Specialist associated with the Higher Education Acceleration and Transformation (HEAT) project under the UGC, expertly facilitated the workshop. His presentation aimed to equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of the ATF sub-project proposal writing process. Throughout the interactive session, Professor Ali shared essential guidelines for developing impactful proposals aligned with the project’s objectives.

Forty-nine department faculty members participated in the workshop, contributing to a highly engaging and productive experience. The session concluded with an open Q&A segment, allowing faculty members to address their inquiries directly. Participants expressed their sincere gratitude to the UGC and EWU authorities and acknowledged the IQAC for organizing this important program, which represents a vital step toward enhancing academic excellence.
