Department of CSE Successfully Organized a Seminar on “Revolutionizing the Telecom Industry: Harnessing Big Data and AI for Business Intelligence”

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at East West University recently held a seminar titled “Revolutionizing the Telecom Industry: Harnessing Big Data and AI for Business Intelligence” on February 19, 2025, at the EWU campus.
The seminar featured industry experts including Mr. Dewan Md. Mostafizur Rahman (Deputy Director of Business Intelligence & Analytics) and Mr. Kh. Ehsanur Rahman (Head of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence). In addition, a dynamic team from Banglalink—comprising Md. Ziaul Haque, Jahidul Islam, Md. Taimur Islam, Quazi Tahmeedul Munir, and Ishmam Tasnim—shared real-world insights into how AI and Big Data are transforming the telecom sector.
The event included sessions on the evolution of Business Intelligence, translating data into actionable insights, and showcased augmented as well as generative AI use cases. Attendees participated in an interactive AI challenge and quiz, with the top three winners receiving tokens of appreciation.
Esteemed academic leaders, Dr. Maheen Islam, Chairperson and Associate Professor and Dr. Shamim H. Ripon, Professor, also joined the program, emphasizing the importance of connecting academic theories with industry best practices.
