Flash the Freshers: Flashmob organized by East West University Club for Performing Arts
On the 19th of October 2025, East West University’s campus burst into life with Flash the Freshers, a lively and colourful flashmob event organized by East West University Club for Performing Arts (ECPA) to welcome the Fall 2025 students. The event began at 4:50 PM and quickly drew the attention of students, faculty, and visitors as the performances unfolded with rhythm, laughter, and excitement.
The occasion was graced by the presence of our Honourable Pro-Vice Chancellor , Professor Dr. Mohammad Ashik Mosaddik along with Honourable Treasurer , Air Cdre (Retd) Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury and several distinguished faculty members , Md. Kamrul Hassan , Assistant Professor of the Department of Business Administration and our beloved club moderators Dr. Nikhil Chandra Shil and Md. Shazed Ul Hoq Khan Abir, who joined to witness this dynamic celebration. Their warm smiles and appreciation encouraged every performer, making the afternoon truly special for everyone involved.
The performances were thoughtfully organized into three main segments: dance, drama, and music, each presented on separate themed “floors,” representing different wings of ECPA’s cultural talent.
Dancers from both the girls’ and boys’ groups performed in a captivating blend of classical, semi-classical, folk, and hip-hop styles. The dance floor became a fusion of tradition and modernity, where the elegance of classical dance met the electric energy of hip-hop, and the beauty of Bangla folk expressions blended perfectly with English beats. The selection of both Bangla and English songs gave the segment a global yet deeply cultural touch, truly representing the diversity of ECPA’s performers.
The Drama Floor opened the event with the thrilling and entertaining performance titled “Redfort Hijack.” The drama blended humour, suspense, and a touch of satire, leaving the audience laughing and completely hooked from beginning to end. The actors brought their characters to life with energy and precision, portraying scenes that were both imaginative and relatable. The performance showcased not just acting talent but also excellent storytelling and coordination, setting the perfect tone for the rest of the event.
The Music Floor then carried the crowd into a wave of melody and emotion. With soulful vocals, instrumental coordination, and a lively stage presence, the performers created an atmosphere filled with joy and connection. From energetic band performances to soothing harmonies, the music floor reminded everyone of the power of sound to bring people together.
As the event came to an end, the entire campus buzzed with excitement. Freshers along with current students cheered, danced, and interacted with performers, creating a bond that marked the beginning of their university journey. The flashmob wasn’t just a performance it was a symbol of welcome, belonging, and celebration.
