Cafeteria

The East West University Cafeteria operates as a high-capacity, sustainability-oriented dining facility that aligns operational scale with responsible management, public health priorities, and student well-being. Designed to accommodate up to 500 individuals at a time while preparing meals for approximately 10,000 people daily, the cafeteria demonstrates how large institutional food systems can function efficiently without compromising on quality or accountability.

The facility hosts four independent food vendors who operate within a unified governance framework overseen by the Cafeteria Committee. This committee plays a central role in ensuring continuous cleanliness, maintenance, and service quality across the space. It also actively monitors vendor charges to ensure that meals remain affordable and prepared in a healthy and safe environment, reinforcing the university’s commitment to supporting students through accessible and healthy food options.

Food safety and hygiene are embedded into daily operations. Vendors are required to prepare food in strict compliance with health and safety regulations, including the use of proper protective attire and adherence to standardized preparation practices. The presence of large, well-maintained handwashing stations encourages hygienic behavior among all users, while centrally treated drinking water ensures safe and reliable access.

The cafeteria’s infrastructure reflects a strong emphasis on safety, comfort, and environmental performance. Central air conditioning ensures a consistently comfortable indoor environment, while artistic design elements contribute to a welcoming and thoughtfully designed environment. A dedicated seating section for faculty members and administrative staff complements the main dining area, ensuring inclusivity and functional spatial organization. A dedicated team of cafeteria staff ensures continuous upkeep of the facility, with particular attention to cleanliness and responsible waste disposal. It is also equipped with an automated fire extinguishing system in case of emergencies.
