Teachers’ Training Program on Teaching, Learning, and Research

Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), East West University (EWU) hosted an insightful training session titled “Teaching / Learning & Thinking: As a teacher, do you design your thinking?” on Saturday, 10 May 2025, at 9:30 a.m. in Room #127. The session was part of a continuing series aimed at enhancing faculty competencies in student-centered and thought-driven pedagogy.
The keynote session was conducted by Professor Dr. Yusuf Mahbubul Islam, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Southeast University, Dhaka. His engaging presentation focused on equipping educators with practical tools to elevate the teaching-learning process.
Professor Dr. Shams Rahman, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of EWU, was also present at the beginning of the session to welcome the participants and underscore the importance of reflective teaching practices.
The training focused on four core learning outcomes:
- Creating a Mind Map to structure ideas visually for better comprehension and instructional planning.
- Applying the Design Thinking Model to encourage innovation and empathy-driven teaching methods.
- Crafting Effective Questions to stimulate student inquiry and deeper classroom engagement.
- Strategically Assigning Students for group tasks and participatory learning.
Faculty members from various departments actively participated, contributing to dynamic discussions and collaborative activities. The session reinforced EWU’s ongoing commitment to academic excellence and continuous professional development.
