Professor Dr. Sufia Islam Awarded as "Best Oral Presenter" in an International Conference
Professor Sufia Islam, Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Sciences and Engineering, East West University received the “Best Oral Presenter Award” for the category of Life Sciences in the Monash International Health Science and Technology Conference, which was held on the 25th – 26th October 2023 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Many scientists and researchers from the United Kingdom, Australia, Malaysia, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Greece, Cambodia and other countries participated in the conference.
The title of Professor Islam's paper was “Multidrug resistance isolates of Staphylococcus aureus in young children of Dhaka, Bangladesh”. A research team of the Department of Pharmacy, East West University comprised of Professor Sufia Islam, Ms. Nishat Nasrin, Ms. Nigar Sultana Tithi and Dr. Farjana Khatun conducted this study. The study is funded by the East West University Center for Research and Training (EWUCRT).
