Event Description
The East West University Environmental & Social Club organized an eco-friendly fair named "Eco Fair 3.0." This fair was held over two days, May 19 and 20, 2024. The event provided a platform for entrepreneurs from various parts of Dhaka, including student entrepreneurs from East West University, to showcase their talents through eco-friendly products. The stalls featured pottery items, terrariums, jute items, woolen items,wooden items,areca leaf items,adventure kits, plants, ornaments, and more. The aim of the fair was to encourage university students to adopt eco-friendly products to help protect the environment.A total of 19 stalls featured the work of nearly 95 participants. Notably, two renowned college clubs, BAF Shaheen College Dhaka Green Thumbs and Dhaka Residential Model College Science Club, also presented eco-friendly projects on "Planet V/S Plastic."
The event was inaugurated at 10 a.m. on May 19, 2024, by our chief guests, Professor Shams Rahman, the Vice Chancellor of East West University, and Air Cadet (Retd) Ishfaq Ilahi Chowdhury, the Treasurer of East West University. Our respected moderators, Md. Rezwan Siddiqui, Senior Lecturer of the Social Relations Department, and Nishat Anjum Bini, Lecturer of the Social Relations Department, were also present during the ceremony. After the inaugural ceremony, they toured the stalls, appreciating the commitment to eco-friendly living. They also inaugurated the "Green Corner," an initiative encouraging students not only to plant trees but also to cultivate honesty.
Many other respected faculty members visited our event throughout the day. Students of East West University also had a significant impact as visitors during the event.
The first day of "Eco Fair 3.0" concluded with a group photo session at 5 p.m.
