East West University Celebrates Entrepreneurs at ‘Uddokta 101’ Certificate and Prize Giving Ceremony

The Department of Business Administration at East West University (EWU) has organized the Certificate and Prize Giving Ceremony for its "Uddokta 101" certificate course. The event was held at the Shelley A. Mubdi Lecture Gallery, EWU, on 20 January 2026.
The ceremony commenced with an inaugural speech by Abu Sadat Muhammad Ashif, Assistant Professor and Programme Coordinator, who highlighted the department's commitment to fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among students to meet the challenges of the modern economy. Representing the student body, participants from Batch-1 shared their personal journeys and experiences during the course, noting how the curriculum provided them with the practical tools and confidence needed to launch and manage business ventures.
The event was graced by Syed Abdul Momen, Additional Managing Director and Head of SME at BRAC Bank PLC, who attended as a Special Guest. In his remarks, he emphasized the critical role of SMEs in the national economy and the importance of financial literacy for new entrepreneurs. Professor Dr. Shams Rahman, Vice Chancellor of East West University, also attended as a Special Guest, congratulating the graduates on their dedication to self-improvement and innovation.
The Chief Guest of the ceremony, Professor Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees at EWU and former Governor of Bangladesh Bank, delivered an inspiring keynote. He underscored the university's role in creating job creators rather than job seekers, praising the "Uddokta 101" initiative for bridging the gap between academic theory and real-world business application.
The highlight of the program was the distribution of certificates to all successful participants. In recognition of outstanding performance, special prizes were awarded to the top three participants of the course, who were lauded for their innovative business models and academic excellence.
