SICIP Executive Development Center Arranges an Orientation Program for the First Two Batches

The Executive Development Center (EDC), Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP), at East West University (EWU) successfully launched its Graduate Diploma in Leather, Leather Goods and Footwear Management program on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. The orientation program for Batch 1 and Batch 2 was held at the S. M. Nousher Ali Lecture Gallery. A total of 66 students from various industries, including 14 fresh graduates from academia, participated in the program. The orientation aimed to provide students with a comprehensive overview of the course and its objectives.

Professor Shams Rahman, Vice Chancellor of EWU and Advisor of the EDC, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Mr. Mohammed Walid Hossain, Additional Secretary and Executive Program Director of SICIP, Finance Division, Ministry of Finance, was the Special Guest. Professor Dr. Tanbir Ahmed Chowdhury, Program Director of EDC, Chaired the program. In their speeches, the guests emphasized the importance of acquiring specialized skills in the leather, leather goods, and footwear industry. They encouraged the students to make the most of the nine-month diploma course and develop themselves into skilled managers for their future careers. Dr. Mohammad Rezwanul Huq, Assistant Director, EDC and Associate Professor of the Department of CSE, EWU, hosted the program.

The Graduate Diploma in Leather, Leather Goods and Footwear Management program is designed to equip students with the knowledge and expertise necessary to excel in the industry. Through a combination of theoretical and practical learning, students will gain a deep understanding of the various aspects of the sector, including product development, manufacturing processes, quality control, and market analysis.
