EWUCRT Arranges a Research Seminar on Machine Learning-Based Network Data Analytics

The East West University Center for Research and Training (EWUCRT) arranged a research seminar titled “Machine Learning-based Opportunistic Network Data Analytics-OppNDA” on April 16, 2026, at the EWUCRT Seminar Room. The research project has a collaborative study conducted by an international team of esteemed researchers, including Dr. Hasan Mahmood Aminul Islam and Md. Khalid Mahbub Khan from East West University, Michael Georgiades from the University of Pafos, Neapolis, and Mr. Riadul Islam from the University of Maryland, Baltimore.

The seminar commenced with welcome remarks from Professor Dr. Sohel Rana, Executive Director of EWUCRT, who introduced the research team to the attendees. Representing the collaborative group, Dr. Hasan Mahmood Aminul Islam delivered his keynote presentation detailing the "OppNDA" framework and its potential to revolutionize data processing within opportunistic networks. Following the presentation, Dr. Md. Sakir Hossain, Associate Professor at Brac University, served as the formal discussant, providing expert commentary on the study’s methodology and its broader implications for the academic field. After that, an engaging open-floor Q&A session was held at the event.

The session was chaired by Professor Dr. Shams Rahman, Vice Chancellor of East West University and Chairperson of EWUCRT, who lauded the cross-institutional partnership as a model for future technological advancement. The program was graced by Professor Dr. M. Ashik Mosaddik, Pro-Vice Chancellor of EWU, along with faculty members, EWUCRT officials, and enthusiastic students.
