    • Overview: 
    • The United Nations World Food Programme is the world's largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger worldwide.  The mission of WFP is to help the world achieve Zero Hunger in our lifetimes. The country strategic plan is aligned with the United Nations sustainable development cooperation framework for Bangladesh for 2022‒2026 and the eighth five-year plan (covering the period July 2020‒June 2025) of the Government of Bangladesh. It is informed by the recommendations of an independent evaluation of the country strategic plan for 2017–2021 and consultation with key stakeholders. It will contribute to Sustainable Development Goals 2 and 17 through four strategic outcomes. 

    • Key responsibilities: 


    • 1. Support the development and implementation of modern integrated IT solutions supporting WFP business needs.
      2. Prepare clear technical systems documentation for developed IT solutions in order to facilitate IT systems development and maintenance.
      3. Perform unit and integrated testing of new, enhanced or fixed code in order to ensure complete coverage of code and adherence to technical specifications.
      4. Participate in the installation, configuration and customization of IT systems, as well as integration and migration of data between systems to ensure compliance with WFP’s IT standards, guidelines and procedures.
      5. Participate in the release of IT systems and provide early life support in order to prepare for and enable proper use of the IT solution.
      6. Contribute to the analysis, maintenance and upgrade of IT systems and troubleshoot, fix problems and make recommendations for system improvements.
      7. Contribute to the preparation of trainings on existing and new functionalities for capacity building.
      8. Collate data and contribute to the preparation of accurate reports on IT investments and costs, providing information to inform decision-making by stakeholders.
      KEY COMPETENCIES: 


    • 1. Shares knowledge of IT governance process and system architecture development with team and analyses current designs for improvements and enhancements while ensuring compliance with legislation and specifies any required changes.
      2. Utilizes working knowledge of project and change management approaches to collect and analyse relevant data from multiple stakeholders to develop evidence-based business case of change.
      3. Exhibits deep knowledge in area of expertise and actively transfers knowledge to strengthen the skill base across the function; considers the most appropriate use to technical resources to ensure skill development and optimization of resource allocation.
      4. Exhibits thorough understanding of business areas and processes to define, prioritize and customize IT infrastructure solutions to requirements.
      5. Able to analyze broad product/service functionality to coordinate design of new technology or assist in technology integration/enhancements.
      Designs, codes, tests, corrects and documents programs from supplied specifications, using agreed standards and tools.


    • STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
      Education: Advanced University degree in Computer Science, engineering or other relevant field.
      Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience with a minimum 3 years of professional experience in IT field.
      Language: Fluency spoken and written English language and Bangla.
