East West University Debating Club Secured a Prestigious Victory at SEUDC Nationals 2024
The East West University Debating Club (EWUDC) once again demonstrated its exceptional capabilities by securing a notable victory at the SEUDC Nationals 2024 (Inter Club) hosted by South East University, held from October 18-19. Competing against 47 distinguished teams from across the nation, EWUDC Blues exhibited remarkable intellectual acumen, strategic foresight, and perseverance, culminating in an outstanding performance throughout the prestigious tournament.
The tournament, conducted in the British Parliamentary (BP) format, witnessed EWUDC Blues achieving significant milestones. The team secured the 2nd place team break, amassing an impressive 10 out of 12 points in the preliminary rounds, and subsequently emerged as Champions. The team was led by Zafir Anam, who earned the esteemed title of Debater of the Final (DOF). Furthermore, Zafir Anam received individual accolades as the 2nd best speaker of the tournament, while Nayemur Rahman garnered recognition as the 3rd best speaker, reflecting the depth of talent within the team and their exceptional performance.
The prize-giving ceremony was graced by the Attorney General of Bangladesh, Md. Asaduzzaman, who attended as the Chief Guest. His presence added great prestige to the event and underscored the value placed on cultivating intellectual excellence and fostering critical thinking among students. The success at the SEUDC Nationals 2024 marks a significant milestone for both EWUDC and East West University, further solidifying the institution's position as a prominent leader in the national debating circuit.
