EWU Robotics Club organized a workshop On “MIT APP INVENTOR” in the semester Spring 2018. It was an introductory course for the beginner level student who has no prior knowledge of Android Application development. In this workshop participants learned about MIT APP INVENTOR 2 which is an open source web application for Android application software development. They also learned how to design and build applications for Android devices. Twenty-five (25) participants joined this workshop. This workshop ends with creating an application for an IOT project.

Topic covered in this workshop were designing application with some components like button, speech recognizer, Bluetooth client etc. and assembling program blocks that specify how the components should behave in the block editor. Each participant built an Android application in the workshop. The participants also tested their application with the smart home automation system project. It was an effective start for the participants towards the journey on Android App Development.

Trainers of the workshop were Md. Al-Mamun Riyadh (President, EWU Robotics Club) and Noor Ismot Ara. Also, Abdullah Al Masud Tushar (Competitive Programmer, EWU CSE) worked as a mentor for this workshop.
