EWU Agro Industrialization Club hosted “Agro Biz Expo 2023”

East West University Agro Industrialization Club hosted Agro Biz Expo for the Fifth time on 20th and 21st June 2023.

EWU Agro Industrialization Club always tries to arrange diversified Intra and National level competition, seminars, workshops and training for students' development. In that continuity, The East West University Agro Industrialization Club hosted Agro Biz Expo.

The Agro Biz Expo was a 2- day trade fair or exhibition focused on the agricultural and agribusiness sectors. It provides a platform for agribusiness professionals, suppliers, manufacturers, and other stakeholders to showcase their products, services, and innovations related to agriculture.

Agro Biz Expo inaugurated by Professor Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Chief Adviser, East West University, at 10:30 am. Besides, Dr. Muhammad Ziaulhaq Mamun, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Air Cdre (Retd) Ishfaq Ilahi Choudhury, Treasurer, Nahid Hassan Khan, Advisor, DSW and Head of CCC, Estiaque Bari, Senior Lecturer, Department of Economics & Moumita Haque Shenjutee, Lecturer, Department of English were also present at the inauguration ceremony as guests. After the inauguration, the guests visited the fair and exchanged views with the vendors. After that the fair was thrown open to all students. Students were visiting different stalls and exploring various agricultural products, technologies, and services. 

On the second day, we opened the fair earlier for the convenience of students.  That day we  got a lot of responses like before which was a really happy moment for us. During the closing ceremony of the Agro Biz Expo we conducted a Workshop. Unraveling secrets behind the agricultural process, we gained deeper insights from the workshop on "Future Prospects of Agriculture" where the keynote speaker was S.M. Quamruzzaman, Consultant (Horticulture), Former Director, DAE (Add. Secretary). It was an interactive session & we had a vibrant journey.

For the inquisitive students, the fair was another learning friendly medium. Because, they could visit different booths, collect brochures, catalogs, and business cards. Gather information on market trends, pricing, and competition. Identify potential gaps or opportunities that align with business objectives.

Brands were also benefited. They got a stall for showing and selling their products. Faculties and students bought from their store and also got ideas about their brand. These brands got the opportunity to directly engage with 20,000 students. Participative brands were ACI, Kazi & Kazi Tea, Pran, Thanda Garam, Hand Touch, Cooper's, Terrarium Dhaka, Wiz Forest, Natrico, Shobujer Utshaob, Regalia, Ezafee & Khilgaon pitha ghar.
