EWU Sociology Club organized a workshop named ‘Workshop on- Kolorob Mobile Application’ on 19th September 2019 (Thursday) from 10 am - 1 pm which was held in the S M Nowsher Ali Gallery, East West University to inform about Kolorob Application, Save The Children and to enrich the knowledge of the students of the university about how to do well in career.

The workshop was started with a short anchoring. After that, the former moderator of SCEWU and senior lecturer of the department of Sociology, Rasel Hussain sir started the main event by thanking the organizers of this workshop and the East West University Sociology Club. He gave a short introduction to the Kolorob App, the utility of this app, and how it will benefit us by giving the required information, etc.

Then, the senior officer of ‘Save the Children’, Minhaj Mahbub, shared with the audience how the idea of ‘Save the Children’ and Kolorob App came. He said that ‘Save the Children’ was mainly organized after the first world war and it came to Bangladesh in 1970, a year before our independence which works with six sectors in 120 countries all over the world. In 2015 they feel the urge of getting enough information and opinions about that information. So, they launched Kolorob in 2016. The rest of the history of this app was described by another senior officer of this organization, Shumon who also shared his own experience and the social accountability in Kolorob.

At the end of this workshop, the director of CRG and CP of Kolorob Mobile Application, Abdullla Al Mamun came to the stage and talked to the students about how to do well in their careers. He gave the information by asking the audience some interesting questions and played games. He said that there are mainly three important things to do if anyone wants to do well in his career. The first one is to choose one’s career after identifying oneself, in doing what he is best and what his passion is. The second one is to have enough want and dedication to gain knowledge from every sphere of life and the last one is to keep good relations with each and every person in life.

Kolorob app has received the ‘National Mobile Application Award 2016’ from the ICT Division of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications in Bangladesh.
