The SMC Plus EWU Winter Smash 2024, skillfully organized by the East West University Sports Club, stood as a remarkable showcase of athletic excellence and collegiate spirit. The event opened on the 19th of December with a distinguished inauguration ceremony, attended by the Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Shams Rahman, who honored the occasion as Chief Guest. The presence of Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Ashik Mosaddik and Club Moderator Dr. Md. Mobarak Hossain Khan lent an air of solemnity and significance to the beginning of the tournament. Competition commenced on December 22nd, welcoming over 36 universities from across the nation to contest fiercely in six compelling categories: Boys’ Singles, Boys’ Doubles, Girls’ Singles, Girls’ Doubles, Mixed Doubles, and Faculty & Admin Doubles. The courts brimmed with vitality, echoing the intensity of swift rallies, strategic plays, and steadfast determination as each participant strove for victory with unwavering resolve. The tournament was a testament to both physical prowess and mental endurance, highlighting the dedication of all involved. East West University distinguished itself with outstanding performances, securing the championship title in the Faculty & Admin Doubles and earning the runner-up position in Girls’ Doubles. These achievements reflected the rigorous preparation and competitive spirit nurtured within the university community. On the 26th of December, the event drew to a close with a memorable prize distribution ceremony. Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Ashik Mosaddik and Club Moderator Dr. Md. Mobarak Hossain Khan honored the champions and all participants, commending their exceptional performances and commitment throughout the competition.
